The Lighthouse

Bell Rock Lighthouse

A beacon in the murky night
a sign of hope, a guiding light
that shines within profundity
puts on course those lost at sea.

I like your choice of words in this quatrain: murky, profundity, on course. All so apt to the prompt.

Like this lighthouse poem, Laurie! They have such a history, don't they?

As rhymically beautiful as waves on sand! So lovely and so simple. Sometimes that's the best way to express the most profound ideas.

This sounds very Emily-ish to me. I enjoyed reading it twice, to savor the rhythm of it.

Admirably done. The symbolism that is the light house speaks eloquently for itself, and you have allowed it to do just that.
