Poetic Afflatus

marvel at the whir of clouds
creating your poetic spark
twist ideas through
scattered words
in the mind’s
blink a poem
is born
cast aside
rendered fear
reprehensible doubt
shadows self-esteem
opened curtains gild
a brighter view
so scan
your heart
and trust
afflatus*

Excellent porm about the way a poem comes into existance, Laurie. I must admit I am going to have to search the dictionary for the word 'afflatus' though.

I admire the gift of being able to create a piece with 12 unrelated words ~~ well done!

It is wonderful when it does happen, just like here, Laurie.

I'm always amazed when someone can write a wordle without it being awkward. You did it!

Fantastic use of the wordle and enjambment, especially in the lines "in the mind's/blink a poem/is born/cast aside/rendered fear". The way you've structured the words, different meanings emerge depending on how you read them. Well done!

Laurie, I love this one. It's so positive, and yet it so well captures "rendered fear" and "reprehensible doubt" - I like both of those phrases so much - they ring true. Great last word; thanks for introducing me to it.
