Longing Am I

Insomniac am I
Nightly I face this demon
Spellbound, I count in tens
Ominous are your eyes of indigo
Melting my lips in this sensual dream
Never fulfilled, deeply mistaken
I miss your arousal, I
Awaken-- insomnia

Dreams ... my only impediment to sound sleep. Dreamless nights are good ... Sounds like you too.

Lovely write, Laurie. BTW . . . if anyone before me noticed, they didn't mention it. You know what I mean!

The wrong sort of awakening, with no arousal! lol

Some nights my dreams are so exhausting that I might as well stay up - but rarely do they bring this kind of emotion with them. Love the shape of the poem - an arrow?

I haven't actually tried counting in tens, but I can relate to everything else here. A fine poem.
